| Intalling Furnishings into The Sims 2 |
- Click on the "DOWNLOAD" button. If you are asked for your Platinum
username and password, enter it. If you don't have a Platinum subscription
you will need to subscribe by going here to have access
to the download you're requesting.
- You should be asked if you'd like to save or open your file. Save
it to a location on your computer that you will remember like the "My
Documents" folder or on your "Desktop." We recommend that you make a
special folder on your computer to keep all of the .zip files you download
from WDS and other sites. For example, you may have a folder on your
desktop called "WDS" where you keep WDS files and a folder
on your desktop called "SimNonesuch" where you keep SimNonesuch
files.
- Find the .zip file you've downloaded and decompress the file
to: (For TS2 users)
My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads
The first time you download, you may not have a "Downloads" folder in your The Sims 2
directory. You may create it by going into The Sims 2 folder in "My Documents" and adding
a folder called "Downloads". You can't have folders within the downloads
folder or those items will NOT show up.
Decompressing .zip files is a built in function of Windows ME and beyond
and can be accessed by right-clicking on the .zip file and selecting
"Extract All..." If you don't have this built in you may need
to use a free decompression tool like Filzip
or WinZip.
- Your furnishings will now be available for you in the game.
- Make sure your game options are set to accept custom content. The
information is in the FAQ.
- Never rename the files in your download directory; they will stop showing up.
- Some files require CEP. This is listed in requirements, you must have the CEP installed
for these items to appear in your game.
Get it from the SimPe site.
