Apparently
the pigs are made by Patrick Barrett from Maxis. Now why
couldn't my contact tell me that?
Anyway,
at last I'm ready to release redherring to the masses.
Just a few small details to fix tonight. I'll make the announcement
tomorrow.
Must
do something about those pigs,
as several readers have emailed me following my request.
Something else to sort out tomorrow.

Hey,
how come nobody told me about the pigs?
They're so cute! I wonder how they were made? They must
have used an object creator that can edit behaviours. No-one
has that kind of software except Maxis,
and these pigs were made by some guys at SimsPlus.
I'll have to ask my contacts. In the meantime I'll ask for
some pigs so I can work out how it was done.

Pets
- I could go on and on about pets for ages. My contacts
at Maxis say it's not possible to make them, but I'm not
so sure. Anyway, they
couldn't stop to talk as the cleaning contract specifies
they have to be out of the building by 20:00.

night I came up with a really kewl idea. Why not spend the
next week discussing pets?

Excellent!
More ISP problems. Hosts hispeed.net proverbially yanked
the cord today leaving us stranded. No-one can expect me
to work on redherring under these conditions, so
it looks like this excuse will hold out for another week
at least. Unfortunately, H. setup SimFr**ks (and me) back
on the old system (her machine running on a DSL connection)
and we're back up and running semi-normally, but I can still
squeeze another couple of days out of it (at least).
I'll
have to come up with a few distracting tactics, like mentioning
the forums again, or
linking to another site
altogether. In theory, having the website down and not having
to update should give me more time to work on redherring,
but hopefully people won't notice that. Looks like I can
leave the next update until Friday,
and then spring the 'flu' excuse (over the weekend).

Okay.
Made it to New Years eve (nearly) so no-one will expect
me to do any work for a few days or so. I've checked over
my list of 'Plausible Reasons for Delays', and I'm down
to just a couple of items.
Maybe I should run another poll
to get some ideas. I've got the 'server down' excuse coming
up soon and with a bit of luck, I can spin the whole thing
out to next weekend, when the 'flu' excuse kicks in. I
know the guys at Blogger
are installing a new server soon, so maybe I can work
that into the story and get a little extra time.
